She is the coordinator of the Ministry of Christian Education and the group of Women with Purpose at Iglesia Poder de Dios, in Pharr, TX, actively supporting her husband, Rev. Armando Vera, in pastoring. She obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Universidad Michoacana, in Mexico and a degree as a Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from the Autonomous University of Mexico. She earned a Master of Theological Studies degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently a Doctor of Ministry student at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Originally from Mexico, married, with three children and a grandson. She has served as secretary and treasurer at the Rio Grande Valley Evangelical Ministerial Alliance and the McAllen Area Hispanic Pastors and Ministries
Alliance. She has collaborated with Hispanic Access Foundation in the implementation of various projects, such as Tax, Migration and Cancer Prevention Workshops, and Vaccination Clinics. Likewise, Dr. Vera actively participates in the Por la Creación program, with educational events for the protection and conservation of nature and the environment aimed at the community, in which awareness is raised about the importance of living in a clean air-environment. This has made her appreciate and value in a very special way all of God's creation, and recognize the great responsibility of caring for, protecting, and helping to conserve natural resources; as well as helping to promote and adopt measures to improve the quality of the air we breathe, given the growing pollution that we experience and that leads to the deterioration of health.
